Haringey Sustainability Month - June 2009
HELP SPREAD GREEN IDEAS THROUGHOUT THE BOROUGH!

To coincide with London-wide events the Sustainable Haringey network are calling on people who live or work in Haringey to organise a range of green activities during June. Like last year, we’re encouraging all kinds of events in parks, meeting halls, in schools, on the street, and in workplaces. The idea is to spread green ideas far and wide throughout the borough. We are compiling and publicising a list of any local events organised - so please think of something you plan to do and let us know asap! The following events are confirmed so far...

Sat May 30th - Haringey Independence Day @ West Green Learning Centre, 12-6pm We will be actively supporting and taking part in this ‘pre-event’, organised by independent grass roots groups and campaigns. Films, food, stalls, discussions, Dr Bike...
June 4th-28th - Green roadshow at local venues all around Haringey. Organised by the Council’s environmental resources unit.
Sat June 13th - Haringey Green Fair @ Ducketts Common - Called by the Council. This year we’ll be one of the partners helping organise it.
June 13-21st - UK Bike Week. We’re expecting local bike-related activities…
Thurs June 25th - Haringey Independent Cinema (tbc). HIC are considering an evening of sustainability-themed films….
Sat June 27th - South Tottenham Going Green event @ Chestnuts Community Centre, 12-4pm. Organised by local residents. Films, food, displays, percussion, stalls, discussions, Dr Bike...

Want to see more being done to spread the word? Why not help organise something yourself and let us know? Its up to all of us!
